Learn about the plants and animals of this highly biodiverse region, which forms a land bridge that allowed a flora and fauna from North and South America to mix. See animals such as monkeys, iguanas, ibises, and king fishers on this hike. Refresh yourself at the waterfall which also provides an opportunity to swim. This is a 4-hour hike between mountain trails and those who like outdoor activities and are in good health are invited to join.

Watch one of the oldest living reptiles on earth! Nearby Las Baulas National Park is one of the world’s few remaining sites of significant leatherback sea turtle nesting activity. For thousands of years leatherback sea turtles have hatched at Playa Grande and return every year to lay their eggs. Visit at night to see nature’s amazing miracle from October to February.

Surfing

Ride the waves and find out why the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica has a deserved reputation as a surfing mecca! Consistent swells and offshore winds provide good surf conditions throughout the year. Learn from expert surf instructors who know the local conditions for beginners and experienced surfers alike. A variety of equipment is offered and hands-on instruction in and out of the water is provided. No experience is required. You’ll be instructed on the beach for about 30 minutes and then in the ocean for a good hour and a half.
